Flora-Lite
- Mini Accent lights (shown
the 10 Light) Great for
lighting up centerpieces, holiday houses and more!
CAUTION:
Do not expose light set to moisture. Avoid outdoor use in wet weather. .
Pictured right
shows lighted house. With gingerbread cookies, colorful gumdrops, peppermint
candies and rows of frosting. These are not edible, but show well, the
very same effect with the lights below. And can be made of edible products
just as easily. I encourage you to make your own patterns. It isn't as
difficult as you may think. HELP .
To get "windows"
sprinkle broken hard candies in windows and the candy will melt while cookies
bake. I prefer using Butterscoth hard candy rounds so I have yellow glowing
windows.
.
For
lighting, I cut a hole about 2 inches, in my cardboard before I put the
house on it, for the light bulb to come through. Once house is assembled
and placed on display it, place the bulb inside and plug it in.
.
Also, I simply
lay a large plastic bag over mine when I am not displaying it. This keeps
it free of dust throughout the entire season. Break and eat when the fun
is over!

2. Dutch Door - Use a thin
sharp knife. Before assembling barn- lay barn side on counter top and score
opening gently - a little deeper each time. Opening should be approx. 2
1/4" high and 1" wide. Remember - gingerbread can be easily mended with
Royal Icing or Perma Ice. Assemble barn sides. Attach "dutch doors" and
cow before setting roof in place.
3. Gambrel Roof - Measure and mark
center line of gingerbread roof. Use a ruler as a guide and gently score

knife to cut door apart leaving center board on each one. Use cut edges
of door to attach to sides of opening. Leave doors slightly open to be
able to peek inside and see the animals. A "dutch door" in the other end
of the barn helps visibility.
